MultiChoice Malawi Invests in Local Content with Pa Mango Lodge Drama Series
MultiChoice Malawi has reaffirmed its commitment to investing in local content and empowering Malawian storytellers. This pledge comes ahead of the premiere of the Pa Mango Lodge drama series, a locally produced crime drama that showcases Malawian culture and talent.
The series, produced by Gift Sukez Sukali and directed by MultiChoice Talent Factory graduate Brian Magombo, will air on DStv's Zambezi Magic channel 162 and GOtv channel three. A pre-screening event was held at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe, attended by filmmakers, musicians, and government officials.
MultiChoice Malawi Managing Director Averess Ndhlovu Chella emphasized the company's dedication to promoting local content and growing Malawian talent. "Pa Mango Lodge drama series offers a unique story that our viewers will love. It strengthens our connection with local producers and showcases the true culture of Malawi."
Information Minister Moses Kunkuyu praised the pre-screening event, describing it as a significant milestone in the evolution of Malawi's film industry. Film Association of Malawi President Dorothy Kingston applauded MultiChoice Malawi for the initiative, saying it would enrich the film industry and provide growth opportunities for filmmakers.
The Pa Mango Lodge drama series explores themes such as corruption, abuse of power, loyalty, friendship, justice, and injustice. The series features a talented cast, including Edwin Chonde, Cynthia Zonde Zulu, Kelvin Ngoma, and Ruth Chavula.
The premiere of Pa Mango Lodge drama series marks another significant step in MultiChoice Malawi's efforts to promote local content and talent.
