Kukana Kuba Kasambwe Band, Local Girl Keturah, and Nep Sounds Shine at Sounds of Malawi Acoustic Session



The Alliance Francaise de Blantyre hosted a thrilling Sounds of Malawi Acoustic Session on Thursday, featuring Kukana Kuba Kasambwe Band, Local Girl Keturah, and Nep Sounds. The event drew a large crowd, including renowned artist Erik Paliani.

Kukana Kuba Kasambwe Band took to the stage first, mesmerizing the audience with their unique blend of traditional Malawian instruments and captivating lyrics. The band's performance was enhanced by a special guest, a flute player from Canada's Ridley College.

Nep Sounds Band followed, delivering an energetic set that included covers of popular tracks and a heartfelt tribute to the late iconic musician Stonald Lungu. The audience was enthralled by their performance, singing along to the familiar tunes.

Local Girl Keturah closed the show, expressing her gratitude to Alliance Francaise for providing a platform for Malawian artists to showcase their talent. Keturah hinted at new music on the horizon and emphasized the importance of networking opportunities like the Sounds of Malawi Acoustic Session.

Alliance Francaise de Blantyre Director Luc Deschamps praised the event, highlighting the organization's commitment to promoting Malawian music and art. He noted that the platform had previously enabled Kukana Kuba Kasambwe Band and Keturah to record albums in the United States.

The Sounds of Malawi Acoustic Session proved to be a resounding success, celebrating the diversity and richness of Malawian music.
